A person I know - I won't say who - intimated to me at one time that this person was not, how shall we say? -- averse -- to giving too much opiates to a patient who was dying anyway, and suffering intractable pain.

The creepiest thing about it was that I would not want this person making such a decision for me, given my impression of this person's judgment.

I wouldn't mind having the pill bottle put by my hand, or a morphine pump, or whatever, so I could make up my own mind.
