Yup. They'll just pass the costs on to surviving homeowners like Ramsey.

The fire(s) in San Diego, and elsewhere in California are getting much worse by the hour. Depending upon which news report one listens to, already somewhere between 675 to 800 homes have been consumed by the fires. While the outgoing California Governor has declared 2 counties around Los Angeles disaster areas, television coverage from the San Diego area might suggest that the fires in and around San Diego are every bit as bad as those around Los Angeles. The biggest difference is that Los Angeles currently has 7 major fires raging, while San Diego's fires are considered as only 1.

All airports in Southern California are adversely affected. Air travel is either cancelled or at best, severely delayed. Bus service, while available, is being rerouted around the smoke and flames. Many roads are closed due to dense smoke, and potential escape routes are blocked. Authorities are evacuating those in imminent danger as best they can.

The Monday Night Football Game, originally scheduled for tomorrow night in San Diego, has been relocated to Tempe, AZ, where Phoenix area residents are being invited to see the game for free, and the NFL is hopeful that fans attending the game will donate substantially to a San Diego fire relief charity fund.

I'll post more later as more news comes in.

Best wishes to Ramsey Su and his friends/family to escape this disaster unscathed...
