These LA fires expose how phony the Bush forest policy is. It's not about forests needing to get cut down, it's about dry conditions, some of them due to global warming

Then how do you explain the fact that forest fires have been going on since the beginning of forests?

A few years back a large forest fire burned much of Yellowstone, and it was allowed to burn because the renewal of the ecosystem was not to be interfered with.

x98ruhf.net

That article, by the way, mentions that the last time fires of that magnitude had occurred in Yellowstone was in the 1700's. Was that Bush's fault too?

You are clearly wrong about forest management(we HAVE succesfully done controlled burns to simulate what nature would do if we'd let it, i.e help prevent the big ones). The dry brush in So. Cal makes for a different story. Now I see 850 homes reported gone. This will get bigger still(already biggest ever) if my friend is right. This fire moved 25 miles in four hours earlier. I'm hoping my friend, who is out of communication now, and everyone else, gets out in time.

In fact, your idea of massive brush trimming not helping is crap. They do what they can. They have building code against brush close to houses. People are aware. Efforts to prevent fires out there often have helped, if they fail necessarily to extinguish the ever-present threat.

Get a life, people are suffering out there. Smoke is filling eyes and lungs to the point of pain, and you want to take this moment to aim your mouth at Bush, nothing more.

Not the time to score political points on this Fire. Besides attributing to global warming is wild speculation and does not deserve merit at the moment.
