Mostly, I agree with it. But part of the allure is just that of folk heading for the Big Smoke. The US has 10x the population, is much wealthier and can reward achievers better than Canada. We had the same problem in the 50s when we didn't have medicare. We've always had a brain drain in every field: first to Britain and then to the US. Every country has the problem with regard to its more prosperous neighbours. Now modern communications and transportation make everyone neighbours and the Chinese and Indians have a brain drain to Canada, US and Europe.
