Thanks Mikey.

I was already playing with the market when the DOW tried to go over the 1000 level 3 times. That was before Ike's heart attack and long before J.F.K.'s assassination,(which was one of my first scare days on the market, albeit if I remember correctly the DOW was only down 17 points for the day.<g>)

My second scare was in the early 60's when I had a margin call for 80K because the broker at Bache Halsey tried to switch months on a silver straddle at the wrong time without my permission. But the mistake was corrected and every thing worked OK, I was able to convert short stock market gains into long term.

On looking back, one of my regrets was not buying W.B.'s BRK in 1965 (a $22K investment then would be worth about $75M today.<g>)But overall I can't complaint since I had my share of good runs in the mid-sixties and in the 90s before the BB.(And along the way I had a lot of fun.<g>)
