Ten,

"Freaking out" is one thing... as I said in my post:

We've reshuffled our government because of 9/11, we've given up privacy rights because of 9/11, we've changed our foreign policy because of 9/11, we've gone to war twice because of 9/11, we've gone to deficit spending because of 9/11 (just when the boomers are about to retire), and we've generally become obsessed with trying to secure every conceivable, remotely possible scenario where a terrorist could get to us, because of 9/11. This is not a rational response to the least of all likely threats to your life.

I could add that we are discounting NATO and the UN, institutions that have served world peace since WW2.

9/11 was truly a horrific event, I wish I could personally put a bullet through the head of everyone that was responsible. You may think that irrational responses are justified by irrational events. Maybe. But the actions we are taking are hurting our own country. We'll be paying for this mess for generations.

John
