Well its called being prepared, the old Boy Scout Motto. And after having seen a a few full city riots in recent years, the need for such weapons may not be all that far fetched. I saw pics on TV on asian business owners on roofs with semi-auto rifles to fend off rioters trying to burn down their businesses. They are also fantastic for target shooting/practice. Who knows when you might be called up to serve in the military. The military just might need accurate shooters.
