" he feels that he can sit all night in his pew and be redeemed."

Redemption and forgiveness of sins comes only through the blood of Christ shed on the Cross.

The ancient Hebrews sacrificed animals in the Temple as a symbol of their repentance. The Levitical and Aaronic priesthood stood as the intermediaries. Since the Second Temple and the Levitical and Aaronic Priesthood were destroyed in 70A.D., what do you do as a modern Jew for the forgiveness of your sins?

Jesus remains the only Lamb of God who was crucified for the sins of all mankind. Rather than bring a turtle dove, a lamb or a heifer, you simply accept by faith Jesus the Lamb of God. There is no other source of forgiveness after the destruction of the Second Temple and the Levitical Priesthood.
