Is the next bubble in metals and junior mining stocks (if so, it could still be early days)? Great, great reads on what's happening on page A10 of Monday's Investor's Business Daily ("A Recovery At Last In Base Metals”) and "Heart of Global Output Now Beating in Beijing". Get this – China's imports of nickel are up 210% y/y through August and demand for scrap is soaring. One thing is for sure – excitement tends to follow Robert Friedland around (remember the 'Made in Canada' mining boom in 1996-97?). And page 30 of yesterday's FT devotes a full page to the irrepressible mining promoter and his stake in Mongolia ("Dealmaker Mines a Rich Vein of Optimism").
