When president bush embarked on it in Iraq of course...after spending a year campaigning on the opposite platform and lambasting Clinton for ending the war in the Balkans.

If it was nation building for the sake of nation building, I would be against it. However, in this case, as in Afghanistan, it is more of a proactive defense than straight-up charity.
