I don't disagree with most of your conclusions as usual. However, I have to say that it has only been recently that Americans tend to (as you say) lump all Muslims and Islamic countries together. I believe that this is largely their doing. Whenever there is a "jihad", there is a call for ALL Muslims to join. When 9/11 occurred, there were the pictures of the Palestinians dancing in the streets of Gaza. I think you are blaming this too much on US ignorance and bigotry. Personally, I believe it is more a result of the fanatics themselves trying to organize all Muslims into a cohesive force to fight the infidel Westerners. From what I've read, they will never be successful, probably for the reasons you mention, but they sure are trying.

When you seem to be lumping all of the people in the US into your categories..? How long has it been since you have been in the US? You consistently call the US and our president into question (and enjoy calling us bigots)and seem to be saying that we are so bad when we do allow all people to worship and live in our country as they please. (as long as they don't infringe on the rights of others) This is far more than what many of the Muslim countries allow..
