Menaker said the Daura turbine is “covered with friable asbestos and is right now a hazardous work site.” The company says it has just completed “a protocol for asbestos abatement.”

This is so predictable, once the decision was made to give these contracts to American rather than Iraqi firms: the costs of everything just went up by a factor of ten or more.

The big problem is that this whole reconstruction circus not only is costing the American taxpayers (or rather our children and grandchildren) many wasted billions, but it is also costing lives.

I am waiting for Coulter to write a book about how close to treason this Iraqi reconstruction effort is.
