The Messiah was foretold to the children of promise from the beginning. That is why Christ's sacrifice is for ALL time: past, present and future. Amen! and to reinforce your point, galatians three tells us that the gospel was preached unto abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. --Galatians 3:8 david reinforced the point that it has always been about the grace of Jesus covering our sins for us.Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. --Romans 4:6-7 However, with regards to Judas and to all before the death of Christ, there was no gift of the Holy Spirit. i was following you for a while, and now you've lost me. in psalm 51 david must have had the Holy Spirit before the death of Christ, because he asks God not to take it from him. 51:9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. notice david is asking God to restore salvation. if salvation cannot be lost, why is david asking to not be cast away and why is he asking to have his salvation restored? It is by the death of Christ that salvation has come to all men i believe it is retroactive. those in the old testament who had faith will be reconciled to the Father by the blood of Jesus just as you and i will be. acts chapter two tells us that david is dead and buried and has not yet ascended to heaven. i believe david and others will be judged by Christ on the day of judgement. i'm open to anyone who can convince me otherwise.
