If you ... believe that any market timing that profits at the expense of other traders is somehow immoral...

If the market timing is being done by the fund manager at the expense of the fund shareholders' expense, you betcha I believe that it's immoral. If it isn't illegal, it should be.

Thanks for your comments. I've become gun-shy of ltbh. Having watched some wonderful profits dissolve in 2000, I tend to lock in profits sooner and get out of positions before I should. I also take losses sooner. It has taken a couple of years, but I am now starting to gain more than I lose. So, no, I have nothing against trading.
