Actually, we like the good mix of rock & ballads from Styx
from their humble beginnings until DD was dumped. We've
seen them in concert quite a few times over the years.
I've seen Styx twice & the wife 3 times post DD too. They
were OK, but they're just not the same anymore.

As for Barry Manilow, I like a lot of his stuff. I'm just
not really into pop. It's too simple, too much sameness to
it for my taste. Barry does a lot more than just pop & his
balads are among the best IMO. He also knows how to work a
crowd between songs. Barry is extremely talented & I've
enjoyed every concert we've gone to. Still, I can only
take so much before I want to hear more complex
music/lyrics/tempo.

"If it helps, my wife is a big fan of Tull."

Hmmmmmmm...... What was that song by Steven Stills?

Change Partners? <VBG> OK, just kidding.

Good for her. Tull isn't just a guy thing. I bet that
close to half people at Jethro Tull concerts over the
years have been women. And many of them still dress up in
knee high leather boots with skin tight pants tucked
inside, fringe leather jackets, full length coats & other
garb emulating Ian's stage costumes from the early days.
It's not unusual to look around & see scores of women with
their arms stretched high in the air singing along to the
songs (I find that my singing voice is better with my arms
below my head - VBG). And as hard as it may be to
conceive, many women are considerably more serious fans of
Tull than I am.

And they've been bringing their kids to the shows for more
than a decade now too :-)
