I am sorry JW but I have to get in the last word.with regard to being semantic I disagree.
As to your "they will benifit from our own recent capitalisism history ,to think otherwise is folly" ,
it is just plain closed mindedness.
If one is investing in china and china has become an economic power is a debate on its economic and politicle stability off topic?

Jim, not sure whether someone has told you this before? "nation" in Chinese consists two characters: one is nation as a "country" and the second character is nation as a "home". In other words, Chinese thinking of a nation must have two parts. If the first part - "nation" is nonexistent, then there would be NO second part - "home". That is why the majority of Chinese would sacrifice some of their own individual freedom/interest in exchange of the benefit of the nation.

One example for this is the family planning policy in China. Even though many people in cities would like to have more than one kid, but for the benefit of the nation, they know they have to make the sacrifice and have only one kid.
