You miss the significance of the physical separation at birth into a separate entity.

Perhaps that was just a humorous riposte. On the off-chance that you simply failed to understand the simile, I will explain:

E's comment made it clear that she thought developmental characteristics were integral to the issue. She mentioned neurological considerations which shows her main focus. Of course, I could have simply said the size of the brain and forestalled your confusion--if confusion it was.

The main point was that judging the legal "personhood" of a fetus through developmental differences is capricious, at best...
