It may not be reasonable, but it's not titakky irrational. And given that confidence in a doctor is an important aspect of medicine, if a person really believed that affirmative action meant minority doctors were presumed less competent, then it could well affect the outcome even if the minority doctor were just as competent, or even if he or she were more competent, than the white doctor.
