Won't know more than this until a court orders the administration to comply with the FOIA -- about the year 2020, if I know my federal judiciary Reagan appointees. ----- Windfalls of War By The Center for Public Integritypublicintegrity.org "WASHINGTON, October 30, 2003 — More than 70 American companies and individuals have won up to $8 billion in contracts for work in postwar Iraq and Afghanistan over the last two years, according to a new study by the Center for Public Integrity. Those companies donated more money to the presidential campaigns of George W. Bush—a little over $500,000—than to any other politician over the last dozen years, the Center found. "Kellogg, Brown & Root, the subsidiary of Halliburton—which Vice President Dick Cheney led prior to being chosen as Bush's running mate in August 2000—was the top recipient of federal contracts for the two countries, with more than $2.3 billion awarded to the company. Bechtel Group, a major government contractor with similarly high-ranking ties, was second at around $1.03 billion." etc. etc. etc. There is a LOT more -- including a chart with links to each lucky winner of the George W. Bush Defense Rip-Off Lottery funded by U.S. middle and lower income taxpayers. See the list below and follow the links for each company. (My personal favorite for an orange jump suit and cuffs is Creative Associates International Inc. - $62m-$157m.) publicintegrity.org OK. Now we know who's who and what jerseys they're wearing. Go get 'em, boys! There's money to be made before they're all thrown in jail.
