muzosi,

60hz is fine on LCDs because the pixels don't fade enough between "refreshes" to cause flicker (especially in conjunction with overhead fluorescent lighting), as opposed to the phosphors on a CRT.

BTW, remember the days of "60hz -- Interlaced" modes for "high resolutions" ? Talk about headaches.

As for 1600 x 1200 over DVI... is this with 32bit color, or only 16bit? I seem to recall this is right on the edge of the DVI spec, but perhaps things have improved over the past year or so?

Doug

muzosi,

thanks for the info. As Doug posted, 60Hz is not a problem for LCD, since it is a constant light, rather than a piece of phosphorus turning on and off.

BTW, which brand did of fx5200 did you go with?

Joe
