FWIW: Comparing UMC's release with TSMC's makes it clear, for reasons I do not understand, that TSMC is the "foundry of choice". Maybe they have a better cost structure?

This makes it more understandable why TSMC felt comfortable letting their utilization go so high before moving to install additional capacity. (I know these guys want to maximize their profit, but I still don't think they want to loose market share to the other guy.)
