Ted, how goes it in firestorm country?

Still very smokey in the air. I went to downtown L.A. yesterday, and the air quality was just terrible.

Good news is that the weather is starting to cool down today, and it is predicted to get even cooler by this weekend. Hopefully we'll have most of the fires contained by Saturday.

By the way, I think one group of people most affected by the fires are the strikers (grocery workers, bus mechanics, and deputies). They have to stay outside wearing masks and holding their picket signs, which itself is bad for their health. Ironic, since they're protesting cutbacks in medical benefits. Meanwhile, the fires have taken the attention away from their cause, so they're getting nowhere. Not that I agree with the strikers, but I certainly don't wish them any ill will, either.
