Ah yes, the change of seasons Californee style!

Rain
Mudslide
Fire
Earthquake

How did the Mamas and the Papas (or was it Earth, Wind and Fire) say it? "All the leaves are brown...and the sky is gray!"<G>

I keep hearing the families saying they will rebuild there homes after fire destroyed their homes. Bud in many of these areas without any trees or wild life a great deal of the appeal of living there is certainly gone. with over 2000 homes already destroyed there, there will certainly be a land boom somewhere?

I'm wondering what effect the fires will have on the price of homes in S. Cal. I recently took the money and ran, thinking that home prices were at or near a peak. No one could have predicted fires of this magnitude, but I wonder if this will prop up prices, or even propel them higher, due to a decrease in supply. Or will insurance problems cause a decline in prices? My interest is strictly academic now.
