Wow, that's a shocking conclusion !
That is certainly counter to every assumption I've seen.
I'd love to see some research on the numbers. It might not be difficult, since much of the data is public.

This is a statement that should be part of the political debate.

Multiply that times several hundred other such businesses, and you've got a big piece of California's public budget problem. Political leadership on this issue would increase employment, tax base, and wage base.

... keeping Oracle healthy has cost CA more than its worth. Oracle could shut down tomorrow, and imho the employment rate in SV would actually GO UP, CA would spend less on security and free healthcare and life would be better for all.
