cg- thanks. the irony is that liberal minded people are too diverse to look at this as a two sided issue - a world of black or white, right or wrong, conservative or progressive, strict father model or nurturing parent model. most people i know are made of a million combinations of conservative and progressive views on a million different issues. i don't expect to ever see the democratic party nail down a common moral code and frame issues and a common language around it. it would be just one more organized religion based upon dogma. BUT... it's quite helpful to see how conservatives are operating and why they can look at the same situation as a progressive person and see something entirely different. a little bit of understanding goes a long way in human relations. -ep
