Buffet may do the world a service by bringing a discussion about, but I'd have preferred he emphasize educating the American people about the true cost of irresponsible use of debt.

My somewhat hazy impression of what I read xx hours ago is that his system attempts to impose a worldview on others via policy rather than allowing free will to reign. I like free will, but I also believe Americans should be aware of the risk of selling their souls to the company store.

I read yesterday in the WSJ that china had reduced some export tax credits, meaning lower value added products exported may cost more. The article specifically cited a microwave oven currently selling below $50. This may be an example in play of what you speak of- other countries altering the playing field to compensate. In this case, the action may dampen trade balance concerns by removing support for some chinese mfgs/products.
