Now, let's get back to a discussion of prophecy and where we think the world is headed in the next 10 years, and how each country and person might fit in. alright. how about we go back to talking some more about mystery babylon? perhaps we should back up a bit. names are very important in the bible. they are chosen by God for a specific purpose. what does "babylon" mean? it comes from the word babel. that's also the word used to describe what babies do. they "babel" and you can't understand their words. 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound [confuse] the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. so babylon means confusion. now what is the confusion? the confusion is between carnal jerusalem--apostate jerusalem--jerusalem after the flesh, and spiritual jerusalem--the new jerusalem--the heavenly jerusalem--the jerusalem above. recall the term: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. this mother of harlots is just that--a mother. not a faithful bride and mother of course, but an unfaithful bride of Christ. we've seen scripture refer to jerusalem as a harlot, but what about as a mother? Galatians: 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. there are two contrasting jerusalems called mother here. the carnal or fleshy one is in bondage to her children, but the spiritual jerusalem above is free. herein lies the confusion! God's people (zionist) christians have gone whoring in spiritual babylon (carnal jerusalem), just as the israelites were carried off captive into literal babylon for their whoring. God told his people (israelites) to flee from babylon in the old testament, and now he is repeating the warning to his new holy nation of christians. old testament warning to children of israel to flee literal babylon: Jeremiah 51:5 For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel. 51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence. 51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. revelation warning to apostate christian zionists to stop whoring in spiritual babylon (fleshy jerusalem): Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her [babylon], my people [christians], that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
