Jim, I can't recommend any stocks online. I don't really believe in gorillas, but I did have one, way back when. I bought Medtronic just after the offering in 1967 (I only bought 10 shares, as I was an Army Private making $104 a month. I have bought more and sold over many decades, but still have the original 10 (plus some other shares), which are many more by now. IMHO, MDT is the exception that proves the rule about there being no gorillas. BTW, MDT was not at a reasonable price, but I didn't know any better at the time. I started learning more about valuation after I bought the company that invented the vcr, Ampex, and it went straight down from my purchase.

My real style is just gonzo cheap. I make exceptions for techs and biotechs, but they are rare and I play them with options when I can.
