Hi KastelCo, My take is that each generation, or each government administration has its own set of unique economic circumstances to overcome, and return a nation to prosperity. I'm sure that the obstacles that faced Roosevelt and Truman were just as severe for that time frame as the obstacles faced by the government today. The circumstances may change somewhat, but generally speaking, the people always seem to respond vigorously and overcome any setbacks. I'm sure that (speaking long term here), everyone will survive and eventually come out okay. Eventually, even peace will return across the globe. KJC
