This is one of the first positive comments on AMD I have ever seen from any real firm (people like Fleckenstein with no firm behind him don't count). Its not glowing or anything, but at least it is something.

9:56AM JMP Sec comments on Semis, upgrades LLTC and MXIM, raises NSM tgt : JMP Securities provides an industry overview on semiconductors suggesting "the tide is rising". The firm notes the drivers for this sentiment consisting of the robust US and global GDP growth outlook, low interest rates, and an expectation of sustained consumer electronics buying and robust corporate IT spending which sent the Semiconductor SOX index through the 500 barrier intra-day yesterday. The firm remains bullish on the long-term fundamentals of the group, but continues to recommend a patient, valuation-driven approach to accumulating stocks rather than chase sheer price momentum. Actions being taken within its universe are raising NSM price target to $50 from $35 and raising the ratings on LLTC and MXIM to Market Perform from Market Underperform. In addition, the firm suggests accumulating AMD, ISIL, NSM, TMTA, MCRL and EXAR on weakness and recommends a core position in INTC.
