I may have missed it but; I don't remember Californians complaining about their tax dollars being spent to help hurricane victims.

I'm sure some liberal will float the theory that the Bush administration had advance notice of the fire and deliberately scheduled the announcement for the day before the fire to -- well, they'll come up with some nefarious reason. Seems to be the way politics is going these days.

Or maybe the way it has always been, but just not so visibly.

California was in deep doo doo economically- and we didn't want to let loggers in, because they aren't the most careful stewards of natural resources, oddly enough.
