Large Attack Prevented In Jerusalem
16:02 Oct 31, '03 / 5 Cheshvan 5764

A suicide-bomber's vest containing 10-15 kilograms of explosives was found this morning in the Arab village of Hizme, on Jerusalem's northern border near Pisgat Ze'ev.

Security forces, with the assistance of bomb-sniffing dogs and acting upon intelligence warnings, found the explosives in a private home - and subsequently blew up the building. The bomb was apparently intended for an attack in the capital. Jerusalem Police Chief Mickey Levy said today that intelligence warnings of a non-specific nature have been received for Jerusalem.

Hypocrites!!
Take a Look who is condemning Israel for trying to eliminate an arch murderer.

1. Russia - who almost wiped out Chechnya.

2. The European Union and Nato who bombed villages ,trains and busses killing hundreds of innocent people in Kosovo, Serbia and other parts of former Yugoslavia.

3. U.S.A - who bombed villages in Afghanistan killing hundreds in the pursuit of the murderer Osama Bin Laden. Bombed and destroyed houses in Iraq while trying to kill Saddam Hussein.

THE PEOPLE OF the Great Democracy in the world should ask President George W. Bush: "what would you do, if you had a chance to kill the arch-murderer Bin Laden? Would you hesitate to give the order? Would you consult with anybody?"
Or is it the privilege of every "normal" country to fight and defend its people, but NOT THE PRIVILGE OF THE JEWS?

Moshe

Gamla was established in the year 81 BCE, by the Hashmonai king Alexander Yanai. Gamla was the capital of the Jewish Golan for approximately 150 years.

The city was built on a steep slope of a mountain that had the shape of a camel (in Hebrew - "Gamal") and so the city derived its name. In 66 CE, during the revolt against the Roman empire, Gamla joined the revolt and fought bravely in two battles and a siege which lasted one month.

The fighters at Gamla, outnumbered, defended their city and were forced to retreat to the citadel on top of the cliff. 4000 Jewish fighter were killed in the battle and another 5000 were killed jumping from the cliff. Only two women survived. Josephus Flavious described the events in great detail in his book "the war of the Jews against the Romans".

In the archeological excavations a few unique bronze coins were found on which is written in ancient Hebrew "to the redemption of Jerusalem". This finding of the coins, proves the strong ties between the two cities, and the strong belief and motivation of the Gamla defenders who truly believed that their battle is part of the battle for the defense of the Holy City, Jerusalem, and that their battle may save Jerusalem.

In 67 CE Gamla fell.

In 1967 in the "Six Day War" the Golan Heights were liberated. As then, also today - with one difference - Gamla Shall Not Fall Again

What a totally off base analogy.

You often post that your Nazi like sympathies seem to be as a result of being married to a Jewish woman. You often talk of your "in laws" in your little religious diatribes. You also post verses in the bible which you claim support your views. I often suggest to you in response that, if there was a Jesus and he was as described by you, that he would have the best human qualities and would look down upon you and your constant hatred filled posts and judge you negatively.

Perhaps this program will be of interest to you and the problems faced in your home.

US TV set for 'Jesus wife' storm

A theory suggests Christ had a wife and a child
A leading US TV news reporter has said her network is taking a risk with a news special which asks whether Jesus Christ had a wife.

ABC's Elizabeth Vargas said Jesus, Mary and Da Vinci, to be shown in the US on Monday night, was being made "as respectfully as we can".

But she admitted: "You can't talk about this subject without intriguing people or offending people."

The programme is partly based on the best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code.

The book alleges Mary Magdalene - a biblical figure widely thought to have been a prostitute - was actually Jesus's wife.

The book also asserts Magdalene fled Jerusalem with Jesus' child after his crucifixion.

For me, it's made religion more real and, ironically, much more interesting

ABC reporter Elizabeth Vargas

This story was supposed to have been kept alive by a secret society that included the medieval painter and inventor Leonardo Da Vinci.

Da Vinci left clues about the story in his art, the novel alleged.

ABC have already screened the special, which talks to some theologians to try and unravel the theory, for some journalists and religious leaders.

'Crackpot theory'

It has already drawn criticism from a representative of the Catholic League, Joseph Feo, who said the news special had relied too much on the opinions of Father Richard McBrien of Notre Dame.

Father McBrien is said to believe the historical importance of Mary Magdalene had been under-rated.

Mr De Feo said: "The majority of the people who spoke believed in either the plausibility or the outright truth of [book author] Dan Brown's claims. The facts themselves scream out that this is a crackpot theory."

Vargas said ABC had not found any proof as to whether Jesus had a wife, but could not completely discount the theory either.

"For me, it's made religion more real and, ironically, much more interesting - which is what we're hoping to do for our viewers," she said.
