Matt 5:
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you,
and persecute you;

That kind of love is very rare. I have not seen it very often. Two people come to mind that may have fit that and it was decades ago I met them and I did not know them long. People in Churches today don't love like that. Some try to but it's a put on thing. So and so is in charge of making our new members feel welcome this week. That sort of thing. During the service the preacher will say turn and hug the person next to you. If he didn't though you would never talk to that person at all! No one I know fits that bill.

But then what about Jonah. He didn't like people much. He didn't want to preach to them because he knew God would forgive them and Jonah wanted them to be punished. No love there! I feel that way sometimes after being kicked around and feeling generally abused by people most of the time. Jesus said. "Perverse and wicked generation, how long will I have to be with you." It's hard to build up any genuine compassion these days. When God forgave the Ninevites Jonah went into the desert and pouted! lol. I feel like Jonah sometimes.
