red stripe is urine in a bottle. It's awful. It's all marketing.

People associate red stripe with happy vacation times in the islands, and that's why it's so 'great'.

But in reality it's awful.

It reminds me of Coors, which i think is ok, but below good. When i was in college you couldn't buy coors here on the east coast, and it was this mystical Colorado thing about how great coors was, and you couldn't ever experience it unless you went to Colorado to find yourself in the wilderness, and then have Coors afterwards there in Colorado, and you knew you wouldn't be able to get it when you went back home to the east coast ... blah blah ..

Well guess what now you can buy all the Coors you want here in Mass., and I'll tell you not many guys I know buy it ...

Red Stripe's from Jamaica, and amazingly I once attended a beer-tasting party in Minneapolis around Christmas time, well-attended, and Red Stripe won of all the beers. Coors placed some lower.

I live in CO, and sure many folks drink cheap beer. But Coors is not among the ranks of PBR, Old Style, Scheaffer, and many others. Of course on a hot day with nothing else in the cooler, Coors will work.
