Southern voters are not going to go for Dean, sorry.
They would only go for Kerry because he is a decorated Vet and if he runs with Clark. But the Dem strategy for winning does not include winning Bible Belt states, it includes winning just one of the states Gore narrowly lost in 2000 and hanging onto the others. Florida could decide it all again. Clark may bring them Arkansas and possibly Louisiana, but they'll be tough fights. Kerry-Clark takes a huge chunk of military voters away from Bush. dean can't get those voters.

As for Dean being moderate, forget about it. He's for 100% tax cut rescindment and doesn't have a military bone in his body. 100% anti-war and that means Bushies can peg him as pro-Saddam. He also said the stupid words "Hamas are soldiers" which they'd use to show he's weak on terrorism.
