AS, Re: Bushies are completely amoral when it comes to politics and money. Absolutely the worst. But that doesn't mean they'd collude with Al Qaida. You seem to be a tad deficient in your understanding of history. The U.S. has provided billions of dollars of aid to the precursor of "al Qaida", i.e. the mujahideen of Afghanistan. Here's an introduction to the man who spearheaded the effort to covertly fund the anti-Soviet War in Afghanistan to the tune of $5 Billion. It was during the 1980's when the C.I.A. first began to work indirectly with Osama Bin Laden and his nascent organization. You'll recall this as the same era when Don Rumsfeld was traveling to Iraq as a representative of the Reagan-Bush team, helping to provide aid and comfort to Saddam Hussein in his war against our enemies, the Iranians.
