If I may reframe, I see the choice as between them being aroused to attack people who are poking them in the eye with a stick as opposed to attacking people who are well armed, well prepared, and know what they're about.

I agree, we probably have gone over it pretty well. Yes, I exaggerated for effect with the "Cringing Coward." My favorite line from "High Noon."

Every nice, normal, Muslim believer thinks we are "Godless Infidel!" That's the way the Religion looks at other people. We are not as bad as Hindus or Buddhists, because we and the Jews are "People of the Book." But we still ain't nice guys.

The "Wahhabists" who are coming out of the "Madrassas" think we are worthless frogs and pigs who should be killed on sight. Nothing we are going to say to them is going to make them regard us with anything but loathing. They don't even think other Muslims are believers.

So to get excited about a "Christian Soldier" saying what Boykin said is the worst sort of "multiculturalism," to say the least. And the people who get the most excited about it would never dream of challenging a Muslim for saying nasty things about us.
