Hello Russett - I've been reading the recent batch of reports and it seems these guys are picking winners. Lets hope they take a closer look at SUF. At these sub 6.50 prices, it is a steal, comparatively speaking. Its good to know smart people out here in cybre-land have serious positions in Southernera - Russ Winter, for one. What's your thoughts on the platinum plays out there? I would like to see a comparative evaluation of ARQ to SUF. Here's a blurb from SH on ARQ (its getting a lot of touting these days):

Bob Grandich in his recommendation of ARQ Aug 21st (ARQ @ $0.85 @ the time):
"Platinum is currently experiencing the strongest, but quietest, bull market that I have ever seen. This dramatic rise in platinum is what I call a “stealth” bull market and it has occurred while seemingly no one in the investment world has heard it or seen it. Perhaps they are not taking it as seriously as they should. It is definitely under most people’s radar right now and, in this business, this is called “an opportunity.”"

Are the economics of ARQ open pit mining lower grade ore as profitable as SUF's underground process, at their much higher grade? TIA

dmw.to - there is a fellow on the stockhouse thread, TadeuszA [sp?], he follows Diamondworks quite closely, but i can't read stockhouse, something about it shuts my browser down, gives me 'server too busy' and then nothing works anywhere .... when it's slow like late at night it works sometimes, i forgot last night though ... anyway, if you're over there and he has recent stuff of interest would you mind inviting him to the ihub thread, or pasting relevant bits in there - investorshub.com

suf.to - they posted FY03 to sedar this morning, also on friday the prospectus from that financing, these should have great detail, haven't seen them yet ...... chart is not looking so hot here, a little nibbling based on fundamentals alone might be in order though .... i'm keeping it light, this one doesn't bounce like it used to

dmx.to - interesting .... last i heard you were down on their prospects? ... or just down on excessive hype maybe .... chart is not too shabby, more volume lately, and consistent ... hmm, it's on watch

Calandra/Embry et al - yeah, the NLW thing .... at the same time as i respect quite a few of these guys [leaving aside the ones i don't, who are a minority anyway], it is clear that there comes a herd effect from any prominent NLW, it's an automatic phenomenon, comes when they get recognised, inevitable .... so there is good reason to watch what they say, if only to explain certain otherwise inexplicable movements ..... there is some weird lone wolf thing in me that keeps me from subscribing even to those i respect highly, like Claude, but it's not rational, i still recommend an ormetal.com subscription to anyone new to the sector ..... and thereby contribute to herd effect, no doubt .... well, it's always been this way, and won't change, the trick is like you say, to suss out those that no NLWs are onto yet, but will be ... somebody will pick up on dmw, they maybe need a little production out of Koidu first though, and a bang-up quarter on the oil trading, 1Q04 will be like that, to an extent even this 4Q03 which ends 30 Nov, there may [?] be income from the Malawi deal

as for china copy cat plays: don't forget my favourites:

ici.v -- 3 m chinese resource ounces, huge land position, big backers in both US and hong kong;

gvi.v -- this week's bargain, yet to pop properly: 1 m chinese ounces in hunnan project, sub-CDN 2 million market cap! cant last long...:-) if this was an FRF or a ORN, it would already be worth 5x that.

fwiw:
