Some good points made there John. Sounds like you have developed a very successful investment strategy. Agree that you are not "active" -- my error.

And yes I got my ass kicked over the last three years. So my philosophy is to ignore that and look at my returns over the last decade.

I'm going to exit these discussions again because I simply don't have the time. Before I leave just want to concede one point and differ on another.

Good analogy - the yacht race. Yes in the future I will try not to ride out another recession. Too many unknowns. As much as I practice ltb&h I hope to find the gumption to sell some or all of my positions when a contraction appears imminent.

Regarding intel, csco, and qcom. Correct that the market undervalues (IMO) the long term growth of these companies, as well as others with a sustainable competitive advantage. Actually that is a basic thesis of gorilla investing. Growth of technology companies can be surprising and growth of technology companies with a sustainable competitive advantage can be astonishing. The furthest the "stock market" looks ahead is maybe the next fiscal year. As a gorilla investor I'm looking further out than that.

Over and out. Best, Rory
