Kerry's deception was the biggest part of the medal story. First, for years he never said that the medals were NOT his, only when a reporter saw them HANGING ON HIS OFFICE WALL, did kerry make up the story that he had only threw his ribbons not his medals, then later said he went back and threw some other fellows medals.......geeeeez. you believin that????

and secondly, only when it became politically expedient did we find out he still had HIS medals...I mean, after all, we all saw how embarrassed he was of his service, and how upset he was, that was the reason for tossing his medals, right?? I mean, even after getting out of the military, he was wearing tattered fatigues, and protesting.

Face it. for Kerry's part in that show at Dewey Canyon, it was all about launching his political career. Period. Teddy "Chappy" Kennedy was guiding him though it all,

senate.gov

and Kerry used a Kennedy speech writer for his big "winter river" Senate hearing speech.

I will give Kerry his due for being a Vietnam war hero...after that, it's all political.

In 1969 on, stopping the war made sense and saved lives of troops. Kerry was all about saving lives of his brothers in arms. Not even his harshest right-wing critic can take away the truth there. Especially considering the Pentagon papers were out and proved the war was based on deliberate lies.

Kerry lost his best friend in 'Nam, lost many other friends and saw a lot of death. He killed, he was almost killed himself and he'd earned the right to say "no more" after he left the service. He did not throw away his medals nor ever say he did. That is a lie if the right. They always exaggerate because the truth is not on their side. They see Kerry's anti-war stance as an opportunity to take away his courageous heroism and Silver Star. But that dog dont hunt.
