Dan Brown simply rehashed (and greatly simplified) things that have already been gone over. A more interesting exercise is reading Holy Blood, Holy Grail by Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln and the response to it that Umberto Eco wrote, Fouceault's Pendulum.

One positive effect of the book is it spiked sales of Elaine Pagels' books...

I read the book.
