Sure, and I could support that. I don't support being lied to to get us in to this quagmire, and being consistently sold a rosy scenario to keep us in it. I think handing it over to the UN would be the most graceful exit strategy for us at this point, to get us out of this horrible mess Bush an the neo-cons have led us in to. It might also encourage other countries to pick up more of the cost, but we'd have to eat a lot of crow and humble pie first, apologizing for the whole Bush administration.

As to Iraqi Shiites not wanting a theocracy - what makes you think they wouldn't want one? Iraqi Shiites might think they could avoid the Iranian mistakes. Especially after so many years of Sunni-Saddam control? Do you think the US would allow one if they did?
