Bush is responsible for every economic event in this country and the loss of manufacturing is one of those things, Bush could have chosen a solid treasury secretary but he did not, (he chose a loser republican crony) and we've lost a huge amount. The GDP numbers are made up of two things, people spending one time tax credits and refis, AND companies selling to offshore markets. The $$ we are making is going back into the economy but this time it is the world economy not the US economy and Bush better come up with a plan (if he is capable).

We have double digit white collar unemployment and until that reverses, this economy is something that only matters to the investor class and a few CEOs. Bush cannot win with this. He will lose my state and the west coast anyway but after all this pumping, as much or more than the "bubble" in the 90s the fact that this economy is sputtering is Bush's fault and his alone.

I think you mentioned you went on a cross country vacation and I'm sure you found out what the country thinks of Bush which is not quite as good as you think. The more west you go, and the younger you go with voters (in terms of age) the worst Bush gets.
