I bet if they taxed people more for having children rather than giving away free money as tax breaks that would encourage the poor or working poor not to have children they can't afford and our Government can't afford either. I should not have an incresed tax bill because of some body else's mating habits regardless of their income bracket. $3751 per person is not that much money. How somebody making $17000 a year and single can't pay that is beyond me. When I was a newly commissioned ensign in the navy I made about $19000 and nearly paid that in Federal Taxes per year. This tells me a lot people simply aren't payig any taxes whatsover--probably because they work for cash.
Thats whats wrong with an income tax. Its too hard to capture incomes. A National sales tax would be a lot easier to collect and would be a lot fairer. And accepting immigrants into the country who can't pay $3500 in taxes each year is a money losing proposition as well. I'm all in favor of allowing any immigrant that can pay $3500 in taxes each year into the country, any race any nationality doesn't matter.

You forget that the flat tax disposes with loopholes, in theory.
