Ask anyone in Washington who knows the budget what you can change - defense spending and the other non-interest and non-entitlement programs are it, plus any changes to taxes. The rest is a juggernaut that just rolls over anything in its path. Deficit spending adds to the juggernaut regardless where it came from. One day if I get bored and/or retired I will go back and piece together who really did what when. I don't trust anyone inside the Beltway from either party not to lie through their teeth about it. They all have the same incentive - distribute pork and pretend they are cutting it. Liars all around.
