And she meant it.<g> Another very cute thing she'd say, when something was under discussion, which was not immediately attainable, but which might take some time to do or acquire: Palermo wasn't built in a day. She was from the old country in Sicily and evidently was unaware that Rome ordinarily featured in that particular saying. But, after all, all roads (or perhaps waterways) lead to Palermo.:-) So, maybe Original Wife will respond to the he needs it POV. However, my advice is to jog a few miles before you need a pizza with everything on it.:-) p.s. even at this late date, Elwood reacts to my comments referring to something I need in a rather Pavlovian manner. I very seldom have to remind him what Nonna would say:-)
