A better plan is to trade more markets. For example, all of my systems trade as many markets as I can get my hands on. Currently, that is the 47 futures markets with continuous contracts and reasonable liquidity available through Tradestation. It works very well as each market can "go bad" for an extended period of time without warning. The good ones usually overwhelm the bad ones.
