Well, everybody else does. No, only liberals who want to take a whole bunch of spending they "like" off the table of discussion. All government spending is discretionary. Some spending is just more difficult to get rid of than other spending, but none of it is "off limits". Brian

Well, everybody else does. Not true. Never know, he might have become our best friend again. He was never our best friend. He was someone we used to try and work with. Not the same thing. Its possible that he could have become someone that we want to "try and work with" again, but it seems very unlikely. No, I didn't say to stop keeping him in a box. That was a very successful strategy, and the evidence post war makes it even more compelling. It was a holding strategy only, not one that would resolve the issue. And it was very costly in terms of causing Iraqi suffering. It was in place for years and might have been in place indefinitely causing more problems for Iraq then the invasion did. Or the strategy might have faded due to domestic or international politics, and Saddam would have gotten out of the box. A little more focus on getting OBL, the real villain that attacked this country. What would you do that we are not doing now? Certainly the deficit problem wouldn't be as bad True but its also true about all government spending. certainly Bush would be more popular Not certain at all. Tim
