New Orleans' Mayor Ray Nagin, an African American Democrat in a 68% Democratic city, has endorsed Jindal. I thought he would. Nagin is a maverick himself.

If Jindal gets a small slice of the black vote, it's over. Polls show him ahead of Blanco, but it's not a very comfortable lead.
