Tim, I can only speak about my old fund cos. They always had a majority of outside, unrelated directors. But I don't know if that was required by law. American Capital had more than usual, because they bought out other fund cos. and had to take their outside directors, too. The place I would suggest looking is the Investment Co. Institute web page.
